Welcome to Tales! Berseria is certainly a great option to start with.
I truly want to play and enjoy my first Tales game and this one caught my eye so please give me some answers and feedback to my concerns. Last on my list of questions is if there is a wrong way to level your character as I don't want to be sitting half way through the game not being able to pass a certain enemy because I messed up my characters stats. I don't mind grinding for exp but grinding for an item because there is a random loot system in place would drive me crazy. I ran into the same problem with final fantasy 15 as nothing clearly stated what was strictly better than something else. This didn't hurt my time with the demo too badly but I think it's where I got the feeling that this game was dragging on as I do like to kill everything.Īnother thing that pushes me from this style of game is item management. V, I felt like a chess piece on a map that moves around until combat starts.
I also found the transition into combat mode a bit silly as it somewhat disconnected me from the world. I'd assume I felt this way because there was hardly any story being told which is where this game shines assumingly. What I'm mostly concerned about is the gameplay as I played the demo and it just felt like the game was dragging. I'm new to this style of game and have been put off by it in the past but these tales games have gotten really good reviews so I've been on the fence about buying one.
